Modern Talking was a German duo formed in 1984, composed of German Synthpop music and later Eurodance, consisting of guitarist-composer-lyricist Dieter Bohlen and singer Thomas Anders. The band operated from 1984 to 1987 and from 1998 to 2003.

Modern Talking's first single was "You're My Heart, You're My Soul" (1984), which became a worldwide hit. It reached number one on the list of 35 countries, reached the top of the European list and remained on the German top list for half a year. Modern Talking's chart hits, gold and platinum records followed one another until, in 1987, the band disintegrated. Before that, however, the band was able to release six albums and sell around 60 million records worldwide. The band was re-established in 1998 and closed in 2003.
